Swim Meet 101
How to RSVP to a Meet or Event
Meet Reminders
- Both swimmers and volunteers need to check in at the check-in table.
- Encourage your swimmer(s) to listen for their event to be called and report to the Clerk of Course.
- The Clerk of Course area is only for swimmers whose events have been called to line up and volunteers assigned to Clerk of Course.
- Please write your swimmer’s last name, first name on their left shoulder/upper back.
- This is incredibly important to the volunteers working Clerk of Course because all the swimmers look alike in their caps, goggles, and suits.
- Please see instructions on page 30 of the Parent Handbook on how to read the heat sheet and list events on your swimmer’s arm.
- Permanent marker will not write well over sunscreen.
- Spray sunscreen will remove permanent marker.
- You may find it helpful to have everything written on your swimmer before arriving to the meet.
- Swimmers tend to run off to find and hang out with friends.
- Things move quickly once warm-ups start, especially at away meets because the visiting team warms up last.
