Hello Families - 

WaveRiders is excited to welcome Matt Duren to the coaching staff! He will be transitioning into the Head Coach role over the next week as Coach Alex gets ready to head back to school. This is Matt's third season coaching in the league. He swam competitively in Virginia club swimming for over 10 years before competing at the NCAA Division I level for the past four years. Along the way, he had the opportunity to train under Bob Bowman, coach of Michael Phelps, as well as renowned Virginia coaches Chad Onken and Dudley Duncan. Coach Matt is excited to help make this a fun and memorable season for every swimmer. 

Coach Matt loves helping swimmers discover how fun and enjoyable the sport can be and also opening doors to the competitive side of the sport. He is committed to making a smooth transition and bringing enthusiasm and experience to the WaveRiders.
