Hallsley Safety Measures for Meet Tomorrow
June 23rd
Good evening, WaveRiders!
Please see the below safety measures from Hallsley in preparation for tomorrow's extreme heat:
- Shade: Your team section in the playground area is actually the shadiest spot of the whole space (although with the shade there can be bugs, so you may want to suggest people bring bug spray).
- Pool walk-throughs: We have negotiated with our pool staff to allow for spectators to quickly walk through the pool at an announced and supervised time once every 30 minutes until 8PM. Feel free to let your parents know they will have this opportunity if they want to wear a bathing suit. The pool staff candidly did not love this idea, and if it becomes problematic with people lingering too long, they will stop allowing it. Hopefully it will be smooth though and can provide people with some relief.
- Water: We are encouraging our families to bring plenty of water for every family member, which I’m sure you guys are doing as well. We will also have water for sale, one of our sponsors giving out water, and will have two water cooler jugs in addition to our water fountain for refills.
- Volunteers: We are increasing our normal supply of water for volunteers. We will have fans in the main areas like clerk of course. We will also have our hospitality crew on the lookout for any volunteers who may be struggling.
On behalf of the WaveRiders, PLEASE ensure your swimmer(s) and family hydrate throughout the day and familiarize yourself with signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. There is a link in yesterday's weekly email with tips from USA Swimming on how to stay hydrated.
Thank you to our 2025 Sponsors!
